An Untitled but Important (to me) Sketch

This piece has been kicking around the apartment for 3 years and I like it but never know if it is good, or finished, or worth saving.  But I just now decided that it has actually influenced some of my recent stuff in a subtle way. 

It is abstract, yet landscapey.

it is pencil and color pencil (on light gray 8.5 x 11 paper) and I consider it a sketch.

Eat A Peach

2 years ago in C'ville at my friend's studio, I painted over the Allman Bros. album cover Eat A Peach.  I liked it enough to put it in a frame and hang in my cubicle at work.

Finally took a picture of it!

This is from my current sketchbook which actually goes back to June 2008. This is a pencil sketch  approx 7" x7" .  The sketchbook is very beige (almost grocery bag color)  You might recognize the subject matter from an ACEO I have on etsy HERE!

Abstract Paint Sketch

This piece is a paint sketch on 12 x12  gray paper.

It bothers me that neither photo is actually true-to-life.

the top one is just a simple flash pic at a slight angle to avoid shine.  The bottom one is a straight on shot with 3 different lights aimed at the piece.  I enhanced both with my ancient pseudo-photoshop program. 

The actual colors of the paint are close to the bottom shot, but the color of the paper is more like the top shot.

found this tucked away in sketchbook... I like it!  Ink in smooth Bristol 5" x 6" . I've already started coloring (photoshopish)  it for my weird-west-coast-fake-album-cover friend. I'm sure he'll start grooving on it as you oogle it.

My aim was to incorporate a few UNUSUAL  ideas into an alien image (actually a hard aim).  Lemme know what you think!?!!!!

Color Sketch

This is a color sketch I did in Jan. 2009, about 2 yrs ago.

Titled: "Committee"
            Acrylic on Black 9 x 12 cardstock.

"Forever Unfinished"

This started as a found painting on canvas at a thrift shop with a very amatuerish practice image, back in around 2003.
I painted over it and every once in a while add a little something to it, but it never seems to gel.  I haven't worked on it since 2009.

Some of my thoughts about it are: underwater, Gorky, Kandinsky, Bacon, Alien landscape.......

It is 14" x 18" oil and acrylic on stretched canvas.

HAPY

A fun goof with 3 different color sharpies on glossy Aqua paper and then slightly tweaked digitally. Approx 5 x 7.
