Art Card Original " Flow"

(c)2015 Ralf Schulze
The first finished piece from the "Art Card Window"

If you go to that post, see if you can find which larger piece I took it from.

Like the back of the old Batman trading cards!

The Art Card Window

I recently made a card-stock piece with a rectangular hole cut out, so I can view old, busy, unfinished works to turn into art cards.  Then I just mark the image with a pencil.
Look!  I have 10 new starts of Art cards and they are all originals!
And the scrap from around them can be used in collage and Mail art!
Recycling never looked so good!  If you know how to see the smaller images larger, you will notice that I have "outlined" ten potential new art cards on the 3 images!!
the "art card window" in action!

A Photo of Friends

painted over painting

I recently found the last two sketches of my friends and I from 1988 or so.  Of course the sketches transformed them into comic characters!

Fun stuff!
All the drawings are on 14 x 17 sketch paper.
I even started a painting back then based on this photo, but got frustrated and painted it over with something else.
I just found the scan of the old photograph of the painting I painted over!

Title: REGRET

I originally started this almost 3 years ago, but it sat it a pile of " what about these cool paint starters" for nearly 2.5 years.  I started playing with it a bunch of months ago and finally finished it last night!
The Title has absolutely nothing to do with the process.  The red is so intense, it was hard to fathom, let alone make it work with the rest of the image.
Same old 8.5 x 11acid-free card stock with acrylic paint and ink and color pencil.  see the paint-only scan below.

My First ACEO / Art Card / Sketch Card Revisited - kind of...

(c)2010 Ralf Schulze
This is a digitally colored image of my very first Art Card (baseball card sized [2.5" x 3.5"])

Please check out the post of the actual card that I hand colored with watercolor back in 2010, here.

Please check it out! click this now!

I manipulated it back in 2010 and  didn't have any fancy digital image manipulation software then and I still refuse to buy anything like that.  I use Gimp (open source) and  Corel Painter Essentials 4 if I really need to do some semi-high-tech stuff.
I'm old-school and prefer to hand color stuff!
What i do like about the generally recent technology is the ability to scan or photograph so cheaply and have the "process" available to view!

L - Stages

(c)2014 Ralf Schulze
As a "painted only" work, this was waiting for me to embellish for a while.
Then it became obvious and i finished it a few days (finished mid February).
Only now getting to post it.
same old 8.5 x 11 acid free colored card-stock paper.
I only used Acrylic paint and Prismacolor pencil to create this(Surprise!  No Ink!).
It is currently framed with a bright red Ikea frame and looks fabulous hanging on my wall in the hall!

Audition of the Wrong Bhuda

(c)2014 Ralf Schulze
Started last summer and it finally gelled a few days ago.  Had to trim this baby because I accidentally got grease spots on the piece.  It's too good to trash because of 2 tiny oil stains... if you really need to know look at the top right and bottom just to the right of my signature.
If you still want to buy the original it will cost you $120 unframed.  And of course I still have complete rights to use the image as I wish.
This is 8" x 10" otherwise same old acrylic paint, ink and color pencil on acid-free card stock paper.

Newest addition!  started in February in Charlottesville (see start pic below)!  Same old acrylic paint, ink and color pencil on 8.5 x 11 acid-free colored paper!
This one was fun and just finally jumped at me after I looked at it in the mirror and saw the vertical potential.  But i signed it at an angle so it can be hung horizontally if the buyer desires.  For sale, of course, just email me at aardvarkf@yahoo.com!

mostly paint only
